This customer in Holyoke, MA called for help with water damage in his basement. When we arrived, we realized that the basement was not insulated at all.

In order to properly insulate, we needed to first remove and treat areas affected by the water damage. Our team got to work removing the damaged parts of the basement. We also removed large areas of mold with our Mold-X2 Cleaner. Afterward, we immediately treated with Mold-X2 Botanical to prevent mold from growing back. Then, our team got to work insulating the walls. We installed Foamax™ insulation board on his walls. This was an important first step in preparing for basement finishing.

We were able to help this customer! We started by removing the batt insulation, bagging it and bringing it out. We also removed the wooden boards and debris from the attic. We then began air sealing, making sure that all cracks and crevices were sealed. We used Zypfoam™ one part spray foam to air seal. We then used a long hose attached to a machine that blows our TruSoft™ cellulose insulation into the attic. TruSoft™ cellulose is able to fill all gaps and odd-shaped voids, as it is blown in insulation.

We were able to help this customer! We were able to replace the attic insulation with TruSoft™ cellulose insulation. We started by removing the old blown-in insulation using a large vacuum. We then went in and air-sealed around all of the points where air leaks up from the home to the attic. We did this using our Zypfoam™ spray foam. Once the attic was air sealed, we used a long hose to blow in TruSoft™ cellulose insulation. TruSoft™ is amazing -- it does not burn, get moldy, or attract pests. The blown-in insulation fills all gaps and oddly shaped voids. The homeowner now can enjoy lower energy bills and brand new insulation!  

This homeowner in Holyoke, MA called us about getting her attic insulation. While discussing that over the phone, she mentioned she would be interested in basement insulation as well. She was hoping that she would be able to make her home more energy efficient and comfortable.

We had the perfect solution for this customer! We utilized two-part expanding spray foam. We insulated the rim joist (the perimeter of the floor framing system along the exterior of the home). We spray this foam in the rim joist and over the sill plate. Insulating the rim joist in this way seals all air leaks -- filling in the cracks and gaps that are present there. This prevents outside air from getting into the home. The homeowner is now very happy, and he is much more comfortable in his home!
