Job Stories From Burlington, CT
Doing Annual Maintenance on a SaniDry XP in Burlington, CT

This homeowner in Burlington, CT needed annual maintenance on her dehumidifier. She had gotten it installed over a decade ago, and had not ever gotten annual maintenance. Maintenance is extremely important for dehumidifiers. If used with a dirty filter, or no filter at all, the SaniDry XP could become clogged. It also reduces dehumidifier capacity and efficiency, and can cause the compressor to cycle unnecessarily. It should be checked by a service technician yearly, with the filter itself being checked by the homeowner every 6 months to ensure optimal performance. However, this had not happened in the 12 years she had owned the unit.

Our service technician was able to help her bring her SaniDry XP back to peak performance! During the service, our technician went in to replace and check on a multitude of different items. For this homeowner, our technician started with checking where the relative humidity was set on the unit, and ensured it was on 55% relative humidity for peak performance. He then checked the dedicated outlet that the SaniDry was plugged into with a circuit tester. After that, he began to work on the SaniDry itself. He washed the pre-filter to ensure that there was no dirt or grime on it. He then inspected and replaced the main filter. He cleaned the inside of the machine, including the drain pan, hose, and condensate pump. He checked the wires to ensure proper connections. After reassembling the machine, he checked to ensure that the refrigeration system and blower were working, checked the ducting to make sure there was no dirt, and cleaned up. He stayed to check the settings for a final time, and ensured that the machine ran perfectly. Now, the SaniDry will be able to work properly again!
