This homeowner in Holyoke, MA approached us while we were at her neighbor's home. She had recognized our company from television commercials, and knew we would be able to help her. She was looking for help with her finished basement, which she described as very dark and musty. Once our Home Comfort Specialist was finished meeting with her neighbor, he went to this customer's home to evaluate it. The homeowner elaborated on the issues she had been experiencing. She stated that she had owned the home for over 50 years, and had been looking to get her basement fixed for most of that time. She said she had been meaning to call us for a long time. She wanted to take her basement from dark, musty, and humid to bright, clean, and dry. She also wanted to make it more comfortable.
We were able to help this customer. We began with tearing out the finished basement. We found that the walls were insulated with inefficient fiberglass batts that were damaged by the humidity. Once everything was removed from the basement, we began to utilize our solutions to prevent this issue from reoccurring. Our goal was to help the homeowner feel more comfortable in her home. For insulation, we utilized our Foamax polyisocyanurate board alongside two-part spray foam to insulate the basement. The Foamax polyiso board was able to fasten directly over the existing walls. Now, this homeowner is happy to have her home cleaner, brighter, and much more comfortable!

They had purchased the home 5 years prior, and they were looking into expanding their living space. Our Home Comfort Specialist came out to the home and began to work on the plans to make their dream basement. They were so excited to get their basement finished!
We were able to help this customer! First, we handled the demolition and cleared out the old insulation before installing fresh, energy-efficient insulation. From there, we framed the rooms, ran the electrical and plumbing, and installed our brand new gray Everlast™ wall panels. We finished the stairwell, and for the floors, we installed with our ThermalDry™ elite plank flooring in the color "gray". We installed a clean drop ceiling with recessed lighting throughout. After wrapping up the final details, the project was complete, and the family is so excited to enjoy their gorgeous new space!
This homeowner in Holyoke, MA reached out to us because the home had a water problem. Specifically, she stated that when it rains, they got water in one corner of the basement when it rains. She also stated that they had mold in the basement. When our Home Comfort Specialist came out to the home, he began talking about their comfort concerns. The homeowners let him know that during the winter, they had a severe ice damming problem that left them with damaged insulation.
We were able to help this customer by adding our ThermalDry™ Elite Plank Flooring. ThermalDry™ is made of inorganic material, meaning that it will not mold or get water damage. It is insulated, meaning that your floor will be warmer. Plus, it is beautiful! This customer chose it in the color walnut, which looked amazing and fit perfectly in their space. Now, this customer has the perfect floor for their space!
This homeowner in Holyoke, MA reached out to us because she wanted to re-finish her basement. When our Home Comfort Specialist came out to the home, he sat with the homeowners to discuss what they would like to do. In addition to basement finishing, the homeowners noted that they had a space at the top of their basement stairs. They were looking to add a new door in addition to the door at the top of the stairs. They specifically wanted a dutch door, so that they could open the top while leaving the bottom closed. They had an opening with no door in it they were hoping to fill.
We had the perfect solution for this customer. In this solution, we installed an interior dutch door. The existing framing was adjusted to fit the door. They then added a new door with a knob that matches the existing hardware in the home. This homeowner is now excited to have a new door that matches the other doors in their home!
This homeowner in Holyoke, MA reached out to us while in the process of purchasing his house. The radon level was tested during the selling process and came back as 5.3 pCi/L. This is over the EPA's radon action level of 4 pCi/L, and he was concerned about his exposure.
We were able to help this customer by installing a radon mitigation system. We began by drilling the holes in the basement -- both in the concrete slab in the bottom and the hole for the exterior penetration. He then began installing the pipes and secured them inside the basement. He installed the manometer on the pipe on the inside of the home. The manometer measures the pressure of the radon in the system, indicating whether or not it is functioning correctly. After that, he went outside to build the rest of the system. He installed the fan on the outside of the home. Once the system was installed, he went back inside, sealing around all of the cracks and gaps in the basement. He also sealed all of the holes that had been drilled for the system. Now, this homeowner has a system designed to keep the radon levels in his home low!
