This homeowner from Ludlow, MA  experienced cold, drafty rooms and heat loss during the winter months. They were getting frequent deliveries followed by high fuel bills. After an evaluation and inspection, we found old insulation and many air leaks.

We started to remove the fiberglass insulation and realized that it was not a properly installed. This added to the ineffectiveness and warranty of the material. After we completed the removal, we air sealed and insulated all the drafts and small spaces using our foam insulation.  We followed up by blowing in our Dr. Energy Savers TruSoft cellulose insulation for that final touch.

This homeowner in Ludlow, MA was working towards getting her home in better condition. She knew that the crawlspace had not been well maintained and knew that it had to get an overhaul. An improperly insulated and air sealed crawlspace can lead to cold floors and even mold if left unchecked.

We began by cleaning out the old insulation and any animal droppings that were present in the crawlspace. We then installed our SilverGlo EPS foam board on the walls, installed insulation and a vapor barrier to the floor, and lastly sealed the rim joist with spray foam.

This homeowner in Ludlow, MA called us hoping that we would be able to make her home more comfortable - some rooms in her home were very cold. When our Home Comfort Specialist came to the home, he noted that the rim joist was unsealed and poorly insulated with just fiberglass batts. 

To help this homeowner, we had to first remove the inefficient insulation. This was bagged and put into our trucks for disposal at our warehouse.

After that, we used our closed cell expanding spray foam. We sprayed this evenly in each cavity in the rim joist and over the sill plate. (The rim joist is the perimeter of the floor framing system along the exterior of the house). This two-part spray foam expands to seal all cracks and gaps. It also has a high insulation value per inch of R7. 

Now, this homeowner has a warmer and more comfortable home! 

This landlord in Ludlow, MA called us hoping to help his tenant with their apartment. A roof leak had caused damaged insulation and mold in the apartment. He had replaced the roof, patching the leak, and it was now time to address the mold and insulation damage. Our Home Comfort Specialist came out to the apartment to evaluate the condition it was in. With that information in mind, we were able to make a plan with the landlord and their tenant. 

We began by tearing out the ceiling in the unit. Once the drywall and insulation had been taken out, it was time to tackle the mold issue. We removed the mold using our Mold-X2 Cleaner and Botanical treatments. Mold-X2 Cleaner effectively eliminates mold and mildew stains on contact. It is non-abrasive and non-flammable, and is sprayed on effected areas. Once Mold-X2 Cleaner is applied, mold disappears instantly, leaving wood surfaces looking nearly new. After this, we went back in and insulated the apartment. We started by spraying the joists with our two-part expanding spray foam. Spray foam fills all cracks and gaps in the wood. After that, we finished the insulation portion by installing RockWool batts. After it was fully insulated, we worked with another contractor to add the sheetrock back. He then repainted it, and the apartment was comfortable and mold free!

We removed all of the old, fiberglass insulation and properly disposed of the materials properly  Next, we fog our Mold-X treatment throughout the attic to neutralize any nooks and crannies that can be affected. Now we are ready for the next step. We seal up all top plates and any areas where air can escape from the home into the attic and be lost with foam. We even made an insulated storage area as shown in the after photo. Now we are ready to blow our Truoft Cellulose insulation into the attic. Cellulose will fill in any odd-shaped voids and gaps.
