Installing RockWool Batting in the Ceiling of a Basement in Stockbridge, MA

This homeowner in Stockbridge, MA reached out to us hoping we would be able to help her with her home. She had a humidity problem and needed it checked out to prevent her mold problem from reoccurring. Our Home Comfort Specialist came out to the home and found that she had no insulation in her basement whatsoever. When he was at the home, she mentioned that the basement could get quite loud, and she was hoping to try and muffle the sound for the people on the first floor of the home. 

We had the perfect solution for this customer. We utilized our RockWool batting, which both insulates the basement and dampens the sound transmission between floors. After we spray foamed the rim joist to insulate the basement, we got to work with the RockWool. We first had to add metal insulation support rods so that we could hold the insulation up effectively. After that, we added our RockWool insulation. This insulation is a fireproof mineral fiber. Now, the homeowner is excited to have a temperature-controlled basement, and they hear less basement noise when they are in the main living space!
