We were able to help this customer! We utilized our vinyl window inserts. They have 2 panes of "Low E" glass, a high performance glass that lets visible light through while blowing most of the heat flow. They are made with a vinyl frame that will not rust, rot, or need any paint. The homeowner's basement will now look much better with more beautiful windows!
This homeowner in Feeding Hills, MA called us after a heavy rainstorm that lasted for multiple days. They had water in their finished basement that was saturating the walls, and they believed that about 2/3 of the room was wet. This issue had only happened one other time, while the house was under construction, so the homeowner was very concerned. When our Home Comfort Specialist came out to the home, the homeowner was still trying to dry the area with fans. The Home Comfort Specialist noted that the water was coming in through the basement windows after pooling in the window wells. The drywall was soggy and damaged, and the carpet was saturated as well. The homeowner wanted to replace these.
We were able to help this customer with our Everlast™ Finished Wall Restoration panels! Everlast's half wall panels are 197% stronger than drywall and stud construction. They are a durable, dent-resistant option for a basement. However, the part that was important to this customer was that they are resistant to water damage and will not support mold growth. Combined with our other solutions, this homeowner is no longer concerned about water damaging their basement walls and floor!
Fixing air leaks at the top of a home to prevent cold drafty rooms and colder floors.
This homeowner in West Hatfield, MA reached out to us looking for help with her basement. She wanted to have her insulation checked, and she had radon mitigation concerns.
We had the perfect solution for this customer! We utilized two-part expanding spray foam. We insulated the rim joist (the perimeter of the floor framing system along the exterior of the home). We spray this foam in the rim joist and over the sill plate. Insulating the rim joist in this way seals all air leaks -- filling in the cracks and gaps that are present there. This prevents outside air from getting into the home. The homeowner is excited to be more comfortable in her home!
Fogarty's Home Services replaced the old dirty attic insulation to get the attic clean and ready for proper air sealing and insulation of clean fresh TruSoft Cellulose insulation in Wethersfield, CT.
